Ancient Threads Herb and Insect Shell Dyed Yarns

The knitting witches are happy to welcome Lynda Holt of Ancient Thread to Potluck Yarn!

Lynda is a hand dyer from upstate New York who specializes in plant dyed and insect shell dyed colorways, using such magical ingredients as turmeric, cochineal, logwood and other arcane dyestuffs to produce her one of a kind colorways.

She has agreed to dye a set of sock and lace yarns for the knitting witches to bring to Maryland Sheep and Wool.  Her plant dyed yarns sell for about $28 per 100 gram hank and each hank is enough for a project.

Did you know that Sierra’s Secret Socks from The Broken Circle were inspired by Lynda’s dye techniques?  That is why the secret socks can creep around caves and know how to escape like insects do!

Lynda will be Cheryl’s Special Guest during Session Two of the Dying to Dye Retreat this October.  Want to come? We have one space in Session One and one space in Session Two left!
