Anne Berk Reviews The Broken Circle

I just saw a very different kind of Broken Circle Book Review from designer Anne Berk, who many of us know as “AnneTarsia”.  Anne is a knitwear designer and teacher I met 2 years ago at a writer’s conference.  I was considering finishing The Broken Circle and publishing it as an indie book, and she was thinking of writing a pattern book based on her innovative intarsia techniques.

As I read through her quirky review written from the standpoint of a voracious reader and writer who is also a fiber fiend, I can’t help but laugh.  Of course we yarnies are a peculiar bunch and the fact that she recognizes that knitters will get an extra layer of meaning in this first book of the Potluck Yarn Trilogy is something not too many reviewers have been able to grasp.  Many people I correspond with do not even know that the Broken Circle has a Companion Pattern Book.

For those of you anxiously awaiting Book Two, I am happy to report great progress.  The book will be 27 chapters and I am working on Chapter 20 right now, so I am only 7 chapters away from finishing.  We will be releasing a SNEAK PEEK of the first three chapters this fall, just after artist Frank Riccio, who illustrated Book One, gets us the cover of Book Two.

Thank you, Anne.  I hope to review your new book sometime soon!
