Aviara Oaks Elementary School Book Tour

Today I had the pleasure of discussing the writing process with 8 different classes of 4th to 6th graders at the Aviara Oaks Elementary School. This is a beautiful campus of 19 acres in Carlsbad, California and each class had 25 or more students. After explaining the world of The Broken Circle Potluck Yarn Knitting Witches to the students I helped them create their own fantasy world as a writing project. The entire day was co ordinated by reader, librarian and knitter extra ordinaire, AndreaOshima.

Tonight I return for a presentation to parents with a discussion of the Student Workbook, the Companion Pattern Book and the importance of reading, writing and crafts for kids. We might even get a little knitting or a fashion show of the 21 garments into the mix!
