How to create a custom fitted sock.

Are you tired of knitting socks that fall down, leave red bands around the cuff, squish your toes, wear out too quickly, or just plain don’t fit? Then this is the class for you! Andi will share her methods to creating the perfect, well fitting sock and you will leave with a basic template for your own custom sock pattern.

This class will cover:

  • Why we need fitted socks
  • How to measure gauge
  • How to measure your legs and feet
  • How and when to increase and decrease
  • How to create your own custom pattern

Supplies to bring

A recently knitted stockinette sock or swatch that’s worked in the round and at least 4 inches long x 40 sts wide.
A calculator.


Two Color Cables

Want to take your basic cables to the next level? Andi shows you how with this two-color cable tutorial.

3 + hour class

This class will cover:

  • Which stitch patterns work
  • How to choose what colors to use
  • How to do 10 different stitches
  • Tips and tricks to make it work.

Supplies to bring
Four different colors of a smooth worsted weight merino, with corresponding circular or straight needles. (You’ll need about 25 yards of each, so partial balls are more than fine) Two colors should be solid and two, either solid or variegated.

Homework
With first solid color, cast on 32 sts,
Row 1: P2, (k2, p2) to end of row.
Row 2: K2, (p2, k2) to end of row
Repeat these two rows 5 more times.

With second color, cast on 31 sts.
Row 1: P1, (k1, p1) to end of row.
Row 2: K1, (p1, k1) to end of row.
Repeat these two rows 5 more times.


Crocodile Stitch Crochet – 2 + hours

In this class, Andi teaches you how to create the crocodile stitch and then take it one step further with squares, circles and dragon scales and beyond.

The class will cover:

  • How to create a crocodile stitch
  • How to work other stitches using the same method
  • How to create your own stitch patterns using this method.

Supplies to bring:
Worsted weight, smooth yarn and corresponding hook.

Students should be comfortable with creating chain, sc, dc, tc stitches.


3 ways to embellish your knitting (after it’s knitted) 2 + hours

In this highly popular class, Andi will share three delightful ways to easily perk up a plain stockinette swatch with daisy chains, beads and embroidery floss. It’s amazing how quickly inspiration flows!
