Finding Fashion – Forward Fiber Trends in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom

Last week, I found an Artfelt Scarf in a box of sample garments from a yarn shop gone out of business and decided to wear it shopping.  Not  Black Friday shoppers, my husband and I did not leave the house early and were not looking for anything in particular.

Imagine our surprise when we found a pair of yarn embellished Dansko clogs in a hunting and fishing store on the banks of Lake Memphremagog.  Unlike other yarn clogs I have seen that have plastic photos of yarn on them, these clogs had real strands of yarn glued directly onto the clog, and they perfectly matched my new found scarf!

We left the store because the clogs were expensive and visited other shops near the Canadian Border.  At the end of the day, with just a little money left, we drove back to the yarn clog store called The Great Outdoors for a photo of the clogs with my scarf.  As it turned out, the clogs were for display and there was only one pair, a size 38–my size.

With a generous discount from the store owner, we were able to bring the clogs home.  What a fashion statement my new ensemble will make at TNNA!
