I just found out there is going to be a new Fire and Ice Shawl Knit-A-long on Ravelry. You may recall that the Knitter’s Edge sponsored the first one this spring. Starting July 1st, you can join a new Knit-a-long sponsored by Blended Threads along with knitCompanion and Cheryl Potter.
A fresh set of Fire and Ice Kits will be available for those who wish to participate!
Blended Threads Workshops’ very first “-a-long” begins July 1st. Can this magical colorway protect Sierra Blue in the sequel to The Broken Circle: Yarns of the Knitting Witches? Don’t know Sierra? If you haven’t read the novel yet, we’ll be reading or re-reading as we knit. You can learn Sierra’s story here.
Cheryl Potter, designer of the shawl and dye master at Potluck Yarns has kits ready for purchase in this magical colorway. Kits include all yarn needed and the pattern in full color.
But, there’s more! knitCompanion creator, Sally Holt is writing step by step setup instructions to help you use knitCompanion during the (learn)a-long. You don’t need to use knitCompanion to participate in the KAL, but this is a great opportunity to skip some of the set up work and learn more about the program.
Both Cheryl and Sally will answer questions during the -a-long on the Ravelry group here.
Knit one for yourself or as a special gift for someone you want to protect.
UPDATE: If you purchase the Kit and would prefer a PDF version of the pattern, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and he will send you a copy on the next business day.
