Happy Holidays to our Fiber Friends!

The Hanson House Retreat Center has several upcoming events we’d like to
make you aware of, plus room for more! We’ve just received our lodging
and catering permits and have room to host any event, from weddings to
family reunions, conferences, parties and we’ve even hosted an auction
in our refurbished dairy barn. There are 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and plenty
of parking and indoor storage.

To book Hanson House online, just go to Homeaway.com. All upcoming
events are listed, as well as dates that so far remain open for 2014.
December is pretty full with ski races at the Cross Country Ski Center
in Craftsbury, plus downhill ski vacations at Jay and Burke Mountain,
which are close by. Not only is Hanson House close to several ski
mountains, it is also directly on the VAST trail for snow machine
enthusiasts. Indoor parking and storage is available for sleds.

Ladies, January 11 and 12 Randi Lee Photography will be taking
over Hanson House to shoot boudoir images for the lucky men in your
life! Hair, make up, food and use of the retreat center is included for
one low price! Email randileephotography@gmail.com if you are interested.

Have you ever wanted to turn your personal writing into profit? In
April treat yourself to Writing from Within, a three day workshop hosted
by Co-operative Press’s Shannon Okey and Vermont’s own Indie author
Cheryl Potter. They’ll show you how to market your writing and have fun
doing it! We have just two spaces left in this personalized workshop.
Let us know right away if you would like to attend. Click here for more
information.

Fall brings us a series of fiber filled workshops sponsored by Cherry
Tree Hill Yarn. Our September Peak Week Dyeing to Dye (Yarn) workshop
is oversold, but we are taking names for a waitlist. If the class fills
again, like it did last year, we will hold a second session.

We are now accepting enrollment for Andi Smith’s Big Foot Knits Workshop
which will be held Oct 3-5. Arrive the night of Oct 2, spend three fun
filled days knitting your way through a variety of sock challenges with
Andi and enjoy catered meals at Hanson House from our Rachel Ray
recommended Parker Pie restaurant. Rooms are on a first come first
served basis. We have 5 available at Hanson House (one has two small
connected rooms if you’s like to share) with overflow at Pinecrest
Cottages. Click here for more information and email us or give us a
call at 802 525 3311 if you’d like more information.

The weekend before Rhinebeck join Shannon Okey and knitCompanion founder
Sally Holt for a Technique and Tech breakout session. Discover how to
upload, manage and customize your patterns they way you want them.
Along the way, you’ll learn knitCompanion (Sally has free downloads),
and find out from Shannon that there is a little bit of tech editor in
all of us. Class is limited to 12 students. Those who are interested
are welcome to stay a few extra days–we’re all going to Rhinebeck right
afterwards, which is not far away!

Hanson House is a wonderful place to hold any event, and it’s open to
all! Just let us know if you’d like to book it for an event, to teach,
or even for a family vacation. Summers are absolutely beautiful and the
kayaking, mountain biking and fishing are beyond compare!
