How To Use a Beading Hook



Here is a step by step explanation of how to use a beading hook from our own Sharon Mooney, co author of Amazing Lace, due out next year.¬† Now that Sharon has her Hiyahiya hook courtesy of Mary Moran from Hiya, we’ll be showing you a series of tips and tricks used to apply beads to finished garments.

Step 1: hook loaded with up to 4 beads
Step 2: hook top of next stitch
Step 3: take stitch off needle using hook
Step 4: use fingers and keeping tension on stitch, pull bead down over stitch
Step 5: replace stitch onto left hand needle
Step 6: remove hook from stitch
Step 7: knit beaded stitch
Step 8: beaded stitch is now finished
