IT’S TIME TO DYE!
September is upon us and it’s time to get ready for Dyeing to Dye at Cherry Tree Hill with fiber artist Cheryl Potter. We have two sessions this year, Sept 26 to 28 and October 3 to 5. We will be collecting final room and meals payments as well as class and materials fees this week.
Now that we have more lodging available–exciting news, please read on–we will be able to accommodate one or more additional students per session. If you want to bring a non attending guest who may just want to enjoy the foliage, that is also an option.
Many of you have already asked to room at Hanson House. We are please to announce that we will be offering our newly renovated riverfront guesthouse The Annex as well. The guesthouse has three bedrooms and 1.5 baths with full kitchen and is great for a larger group of attendees or those who are bringing non attending guests. The price to rent the guesthouse for the retreat is $600, maximum of 4 people. If you wish to remain at Hanson House, rooming rates are $200 per student regardless of room choice. Most of the rooms have been updated since last year with larger beds or more than one bed. In addition to our 2 dining areas, we now have additional seating on the porch. Let us know if you have special needs and we will try to accommodate you. If you have already paid for your room or sent in a deposit, you can apply it to any room of your choice.
Our caterer will be Martha Willey, owner of Cold Springs Kitchen. You may remember her as the breakfast caterer last year. She will be offering family style meals with table service and is able to accommodate most diet requests such as vegetarian and gluten free. Just let us know if you have special dietary needs.
She will also be providing non alcoholic beverages and an evening dessert. You are welcome to BYOB. All meals and snacks will be available at Hanson House, beginning Thursday night opening dinner at 6 pm. The catering package is $200 per person. If you wish to combine food and lodging, the package is $380 inclusive.
Your retreat fee of $400 covers 3 days at the Cherry Tree Hill studio where you will have access to both cold water and steam set dyes, winders, yarn dryers and all equipment. Because plant fibers take two days to dye, all cottons must be finished by Saturday morning in order to insure they are dried and ready to take home on Sunday.
A materials fee of $100 covers dyes, supplies and sample yarns and fibers we will use in class. You may bring any additional yarns or fibers you wish to dye yourself on Saturday or Sunday and we will have additional roving and yarn available for purchase as well. If you are having difficulty sourcing yarns or fibers, let us know and we will help in any way we can.
Both sessions will feature surprise visits from special guest lecturers. Sunday afternoon we will be offering an optional field trip to area attractions such as a local pub, cider mill, and old time general store. To inquire about your balance, please give us a call at 802 525 3311. We accept payment by check, credit card and Paypal.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
