Meet Dyeing to Knit Guest Teachers Sally Holt and Anne Berk

In addition to workshops taught by Cheryl Potter, Dyeing to Knit # 3 was the first Hanson House retreat to feature guest teachers. Dye mistress Cheryl invited friends Sally Holt and Anne Berk to round out the last session which was so over sold that they broke classes down into more sessions so that everyone could get the personal attention a smaller group provides.

Both Sally Holt, the inventor and founder of knitCompanion and Anne Berk creator of a new kind of Intarsia she calls Annetarsia were on hand for classes, evening events and breakout sessions.

Sally Explains Knit Companion

knitCompanion is an app that enables you to transform your patterns into interactive knitting instructions. It eliminates the need for magnet boards, highlighter tape, sticky notes, counters and more. Because it knows exactly where you are in your pattern, it is able to bring up dynamic instructions, including those pesky “at the same time” reminders as well as other information pertinent to your exact spot in the pattern.

The knitCompanion Complete training course is designed to take you in detail through knitCompanion. At the end of the series, you will have a solid understanding of how to use all the capabilities of knitCompanion.

Anne Explains Annetarsia

You may have thought you knew intarsia, but get ready for something new!

My first book, Annetarsia Knits, is an all new publication that will teach you a brand-new way to knit intarsia. This isn’t your grandmother’s intarsia. Instead, it’s easy, fast, and fun. Tentative release date Fall 2014.
