You may have noticed that when you visit the Potluck Yarn website that we have links to our other sites, Cherry Tree Hill Yarn and Discontinued Brand Name Yarn. We call them our sister sites, because we work together to promote yarns, books, patterns and kits rather than competing with each other.
Cherry Tree Hill was a wholesale handpainted yarn company that I founded long ago. I still handpaint most of my yarn myself and am developing new colors for my next Potluck Yarn book. We also wholesale to stores and vendors on this site.
Discontinued Brand Name Yarn (DBNY) is our consignment shop. When stores go out of business, or a manufacturer has overstock, they often hire us to liquidate stock. Sometimes we even get hoarders units and estate sales, too. Just now we are finishing a benefit sale for The Boys and Girls Club. One of their chapters was given a large donation of coned yarn and we are helping them to turn it into money to fund their summer program this year. To purchase from DBNY, you do not need to have a wholesale license and there are no minimums. We have one price for everyone, usually far below wholesale.
