Poinsettia Elementary School Book Tour

Today I taught 5 classes to 4th through 6th graders at Poinsettia Elementary School. These students were extremely interested in marketing, probably because the librarian was able to put the Potluck Yarn website on the big screen. I got lots of questions about html code, navigating the site and how to create apps–these kids even wanted to know how old they needed to be before they could publish–how refreshing!!

We explored how to build a fantasy world–some of the kids had already read through the first book of the trilogy and were able to answer ALL of the questions the others students asked in class–even the answer to WHY Trader is allowed in the dye shed where boys are NEVER allowed: Trader is not really a boy, but a girl–spoiler alert!!

It was a great day with a lot of kids who were really savvy about fantasy books, how they are made and what to expect. I want to thank the librarian Judy for making it a very memorable day for me and the kids!
